On October 2019, Virus Bulletin conference will be held in London. Our researchers Sebastián García, María José Erquiaga and Anna Shirokova will be presenting their research on the novel Geost botnet.
This Botnet was discovered in our laboratory, when the HtBot was being analyzed. The Htbot is an illegal proxy network and Geost botmasters were using this botnet.
In the upcoming presentation, researchers will show how the botnet was discovered due to OpSec mistakes by the botmasters. They will also describe the botnet architecture, the IoCs, the relations between the attackers and how their business work.
